I spent another evening at the Reference desk with Claire and Ruth. Thursdays are a lot slower than earlier in the week so it was a little boring. Claire, however, gave me a useful job. She said that I wouldn't know how important it was. What she meant was cutting up scrap paper. Oh I definitely understood how those small squares of scrap paper are useful. What would you do without them to write call numbers down for the people you're assisting? I know how much easier it makes it to have scrap paper ready to write notes on while doing a search. I do it all the time. SO overall, it wasn't a very exciting night, but they were happy to have a stock of scrap paper at the ready.
